how the day runs
No lecture for three hours before you touch anything. You are working early, and she is next to you the whole way, doing one hand while you do the other.

You walk in
Your coffee order is waiting, your kit is on the desk and the room is already set up for you. You go through the kit and the manual together before anything else.

Practice fingers
Acrylic starts with liquid to powder ratio, then application, shaping and some design. Gel-X starts with tool sanitation, then application, shaping and design. All on practice fingers, so mistakes cost nothing.

A real hand, step by step
After lunch you move onto a hand. For acrylic she preps and applies one hand, then you do the other. She shapes one, you shape the other. Same for design and top coat, trading off at every single step. For Gel-X she does one hand, you do the other, then you do all ten of hers.

Photos and a debrief
You photograph your own work, then talk through the day and anything still worrying you. Day two is model day, where you do a full set start to finish.
There is no time limit on either day. It ends when you have it.

Before you book
Do I need experience, or a license?
No experience necessary. Complete beginners are welcome and she starts from the very beginning. Working techs are welcome too, and the day moves at your speed either way because you are the only student in the room.
One thing worth knowing: this is skills training, not a licensing course. California requires a license from the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology before you can charge clients, so if you are starting from scratch, plan on that as a separate step.
Can I try this before committing to a license?
That is one of the better reasons to book. Cosmetology school is a serious investment of money and months, and most people are asked to make it before they have ever built a set.
Two days here tells you whether you actually enjoy the work, and whether your hands take to it, before you commit to anything bigger. You leave with a kit either way, so if you decide to keep going you already have what you need to practice.
How much is the deposit, and is it refundable?
$200 holds your dates, and it is non refundable. It comes off your total.
Requesting a date does not charge you. Nothing is taken until she has reviewed your request and approved it.
When is the rest due, and how do I pay it?
The balance is due in cash on day one, before class starts.
For the Master Class that is a large amount of cash to carry, so plan the withdrawal ahead of your first day rather than on the morning.
What if I need to reschedule?
Let her know at least 5 days before your first day and she will move you.
Inside 5 days your dates are already held and she has turned clients away for them, so the deposit does not carry over.
How many students does she take?
A limited number each month. She teaches one student at a time and still has her own clients, so there are only so many days in a month she can give to training.
If the dates you want matter, request early rather than late.
How soon will she reply?
Within 24 hours. She reads and answers every request herself, so if you have not heard back by then, check your spam folder and then message her on Instagram.
The training itself
How long is each day?
Nine hours, and there is no hard stop. The day ends when you have it, not when the clock says so.
The 1:1 runs two days, bundles run three to four, and the Master Class runs four days back to back or one class a week for four weeks.
Will I actually be doing the work, or watching?
Doing it, and from day one. This is not a demo you take notes on. You start on practice fingers, then move to a real hand after lunch on your first day.
For acrylic she preps and applies one hand, then you do the other. She shapes one, you shape the other. Same for design and top coat, trading off at every step. For Gel-X she does one hand, you do the other, then you do all ten of hers.
Come ready to have your hands in it. That is what makes the difference by model day.
Do I get a certificate?
What you leave with is the skill, the kit and a set you built yourself, plus photos of your own work for your page.
If a certificate is what you need, cosmetology school and the state board are the route to that. This is the hands-on training that makes the work good once you are there.
What is model day?
Day two. You build a full set start to finish, on your own, with her there if you need her.
It is the point of the whole thing. Theory and practice fingers lead up to it, and it is where you find out you can actually do this.
Do I need to bring a model?
She can provide one if you need it, so nobody has to miss model day over this.
That said, she would rather you brought someone you know. You will be more relaxed working on a friend, and it is a free set for someone who will be glad to sit for you.
Do I need to bring anything?
No. Your kit is set up and waiting on the desk when you walk in, and it matches the service you are learning.
Everything is yours to keep, so you can practice at home the same night instead of shopping for supplies.
Can I take more than one training?
Yes. Plenty of people start with one service and come back for another.
If you already know you want two, a bundle is cheaper than booking two separate 1:1 trainings. If you want everything, that is the Master Class.
